Govt Committed to Women’s Cricket: PM Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD – Former captain of the Pakistan women’s cricket team and world-renowned cricketer Sana Mir met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

The Prime Minister congratulated Sana Mir on being inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) “Hall of Fame”.

The Prime Minister, while appreciating her outstanding performance during her leadership of women’s cricket, said:

“Under your leadership, the Pakistan women’s cricket team achieved great successes and made the country’s name famous all over the world.”

The Prime Minister expressed his expectation that Sana Mir will play a crucial role in training and guiding new talent, leveraging her extensive experience.

He clarified that the government is committed to promoting talent in every field of sports on the basis of merit.

He added that providing equal opportunities and facilities to men and women in all sports, including cricket, is among the top priorities of the government.

Sana Mir thanked the Prime Minister and assured that she would fully represent Pakistan in the World Cricket Association and the ICC.

She also presented suggestions for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan, especially women’s cricket.

Sana Mir expressed the hope that the government would take practical steps in the future to improve cricket grounds, promote new talent, and provide more opportunities to female players.
