So far, the bodies of 3 people have been recovered, while a search operation is underway to find the other missing people. The danger continues in the areas on the banks of the river.

The administration has instructed the public and tourists to avoid going near rivers and canals and take precautionary measures, as the rains are likely to continue for the next few days.

PM expresses grief over the death of tourists in the Swat River, directs to expedite rescue measures

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of tourists due to flash floods in the Khwaza Khela area of the ​​Swat River.

Expressing heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased, the Prime Minister prayed for forgiveness and elevation of ranks for the deceased and patience and courage for the affected families.

He also issued instructions to expedite the immediate search for the missing persons in the incident and rescue operations.

The Prime Minister directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), district administration and rescue personnel to make the safety measures at rivers, streams and tourist places effective and coordinated so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.

He appreciated the timely action and efforts of the NDMA, rescue agencies and local administration in safely evacuating the people trapped in the flood situation.
