Shahbaz Sharif Unveils Agricultural Reform: Tax Cuts on Machinery
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, expressing his determination to implement reforms to revive the country’s agricultural sector, has directed to reduction of taxes on agricultural machinery and equipment.
The Prime Minister said that these measures are aimed at increasing production, reducing costs, and accelerating economic growth.
He added that the government is committed to facilitating farmers and no new taxes will be imposed on fertilizers and pesticides in the next financial year.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the sector will be supported by increasing the capacity of agricultural storage facilities and the return of those who went to China on agricultural scholarships.
Welcoming the promises of financial support for agricultural projects by the federal government and provincial authorities, the Prime Minister said that these measures will strengthen the rural economy.
A briefing was given in this meeting on the National Agriculture Innovation and Growth Action Plan, under which efforts are being made to promote innovation and start-ups in the agricultural sector.
The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment that the development of the agricultural sector will lead to rural prosperity.
