Trump Announces Iran-Israel Ceasefire
Washington: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the ongoing 12-day war between Iran and Israel is finally going to end with a ceasefire.
President Trump wrote on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’ that both sides have agreed to a complete ceasefire, which will take effect within the next 6 hours.
Trump said that Iran and Israel will stop fighting after completing their current military missions. First, Iran will initiate the ceasefire, while Israel will also stop operations after 12 hours. The end of this war will be recognized internationally within 24 hours.
He said that both countries will adopt peace, restraint and respectable behavior during the ceasefire.
President Trump also congratulated the leadership of Iran and Israel for showing courage, perseverance and wisdom.
Earlier, Iran fired 14 missiles at the US air base ‘Al-Udeid’ in Qatar, of which 13 were destroyed by the US defense system, while one missile was allowed to go because it did not pose any threat.
The US President said that there were no casualties in the attack and that Iran had given advance notice, which prevented the damage.
Trump also thanked the Qatari Emir on this occasion and expressed hope that Iran and Israel will now move towards permanent peace.
