Rs. 5,000 Monthly: No Bribe, No Reference! KP Govt’s Bold Welfare Move

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially launched two important welfare programs — Roshan Mustaqbal Card and Sahara Card — to support orphans and widows.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur addressed the inaugural ceremony and said that this initiative is a practical step towards establishing a welfare state.

Provincial ministers, members of the assembly, and senior government officials attended the ceremony, during which the Chief Minister himself distributed Roshan Mustaqbal Cards to orphans and Sahara Cards to widows.

Roshan Mustaqbal Card:

This card will be given to orphans aged 5 to 16, under which each child will be provided with a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 5,000. In the initial phase, 9,000 orphans will benefit from this facility.

Sahara Card:

This card will be given to widows aged 45 years or above, who will be provided with an assistance of Rs. 5,000 every month. Currently, 15,000 widows are benefiting from this scheme.

Under both cards, the beneficiaries will be provided regular assistance on the 5th of every month. Given Eid-ul-Adha, the amount for May and June (Rs. 10,000) is being paid together.

The Chief Minister said that the selection of beneficiaries has been done in a transparent manner, and the scope of these programs will be further expanded. The process of registering new beneficiaries will start in July.

In his address, Ali Amin Gandapur appreciated the performance of the Social Welfare Department and said that justice, merit, and equality are the principles of the State of Madinah, which the current government is following.
