Now You Can Buy Air Tickets Using Crypto
Air Arabia, the renowned airline based in the United Arab Emirates, has taken a significant step towards the digital economy by introducing the facility to purchase air tickets using AE Coin.
In partnership with Al Maryah Community Bank, Air Arabia customers can now buy tickets through the AEC Wallet mobile app, enabling fast and low-cost transactions using AE Coin.
AE Coin is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the UAE Dirham, meaning one AE Coin equals one dirham. This peg ensures price stability, transparency, and financial security.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said, “We are committed to providing our customers with the latest financial solutions, and the introduction of AE Coin payment is part of this vision. It offers a fast, secure, and transparent way to purchase tickets.”
This initiative follows the UAE Central Bank’s recent decision to grant legal status to the dirham stablecoin, which has strengthened the country’s digital financial ecosystem and encouraged various institutions to adopt blockchain and digital currencies.
