Shehbaz Meets Iran’s Supreme Leader Today
Upon arrival at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, he was warmly received by Iran’s Interior Minister Iskandar Momeni, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu, and other senior diplomatic officials. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Iranian armed forces presented a guard of honor to the Prime Minister.
The high-level delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian at the historic Sa’dabad Palace in Tehran. The meeting will be broadcast live on Pakistan Television (PTV), and a guard of honor will be presented on arrival. Delegation-level talks will follow between the leadership of the two countries.
In his discussions with the Iranian leadership, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will express Pakistan’s gratitude for Iran’s support amid recent tensions with India and reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and cooperation.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, where key bilateral and regional issues will be discussed.
The visit will conclude with the Pakistani delegation attending a state dinner hosted in honor of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by President Masoud Pezeshkian.
