Pakistan Diverts 6 More LNG Cargoes Abroad

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has shifted six more LNG cargoes imported from Italian company ENI to the global spot market, taking the total number of cargoes diverted this year to 11.

Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) and ENI have a 15-year long-term agreement, under which one cargo must be imported every month. However, according to the Petroleum Division, the scheduled cargoes have been sent to the global market between July and December 2025.

Earlier, five cargoes imported from Qatar for 2025 have also been postponed.

A spokesperson for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has confirmed that the government has successfully shifted six more cargoes.

However, according to experts, there has been no significant reduction in the line pack pressure of the gas since February 2025, which is still exceeding 5 billion cubic feet (BCF).

This amount is considered a dangerous limit for the National Gas Transmission Network.
