IMF Clears $1B For Pakistan, India’s Narrative Fails
Rejecting the negative propaganda of the Indian media, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s economic reforms and confirmed the fulfillment of all targets for additional funding.
IMF spokesperson Julie Kozak said in a press conference that Pakistan has fulfilled all the conditions required under the program and the board has approved the funding.
Her statement came in response to a provocative question from an Indian journalist, accusing Pakistan of alleged misuse of funds.
Julie Kozak clarified that the IMF releases funds under a regular and transparent system, in which conditions, reforms, and safeguards are monitored at every stage. She added that she hopes for a peaceful resolution of the disputes between Pakistan and India.
Economists say that India made a political attempt to deprive Pakistan of financial assistance, but it failed. The approval of the one billion dollar tranche for Pakistan is a clear response to India’s propaganda.
According to analysts, the allegations made by India are baseless and merely a political point-scoring tactic, which amounts to fueling tensions in the region.
