Pakistan Avenged 1971 Defeat, Modi Must Think Twice Now: PM Shahbaz
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan has avenged the defeat of 1971, and now the Modi government will think a hundred times before launching any attack on Pakistan. He said Pakistan has established its superiority in conventional warfare, and, God willing, there will be no need for nuclear weapons until the Day of Judgment. This was the shortest war in recent history, and henceforth, the enemy will never dare to look at Pakistan with evil intentions.
He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony held on Thursday for the distribution of financial aid to the families of civilians martyred during the recent conflict in Azad Kashmir. Federal ministers, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, and a large number of the martyrs’ families were present on the occasion. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif distributed compensation checks among the families of the martyrs.
The Prime Minister said that a few days ago, a war broke out between Pakistan and India that could have taken a dangerous turn with catastrophic consequences. He condemned the Pahalgam incident as regrettable, which India used as a pretext to hurl baseless allegations against Pakistan. Pakistan proved to the world that India’s accusations were unfounded, false, and part of a conspiracy that could have destroyed regional peace.
Shahbaz Sharif said that during his address in Kakul, he announced Pakistan’s readiness for impartial international investigations into the Pahalgam incident, but India refused to accept this and ignored the offer, launching an attack on Pakistan instead. Due to Indian aggression, 33 people were martyred and 55 injured in Bahawalpur, Azad Kashmir, and other parts of the country. India attacked unarmed Pakistani civilians, but the Pakistan Armed Forces gave a crushing response to the aggression. However, the armed forces targeted six Indian aircraft instead of civilian areas, destroying key Indian installations with Al-Fatah missiles, reminding India of past humiliations. Despite this, India continued to level false accusations and repeated attacks.
The Prime Minister stated that numerous countries around the world stood united in support of Pakistan’s rightful stance, and Pakistan’s offer for an international investigative commission was proof of its innocence. India had been arrogant, expecting global powers to side with it, but many of its allies remained neutral or supported Pakistan’s position.
He added that the six Indian planes shot down and damage caused to Indian facilities were defensive acts. On the night of May 9, Pakistan decided to launch a retaliatory attack, and on the morning of May 10, the Prime Minister spoke with the Chief of Army Staff. The army chief, confident and full of zeal, informed him that India had attacked the Nur Khan Airbase and other locations with missiles. He said India would receive a slap it would remember forever. As a result, from Pathankot onwards, no Indian airbase was beyond the reach of Pakistan’s Shaheen missiles. By 9 AM, the army chief informed that India was ready to accept a ceasefire.
The Prime Minister said that the Modi government will now think a hundred times before attacking Pakistan again. Pakistan disproved India’s claim of superiority in conventional warfare and avenged the 1971 defeat. He thanked God that Pakistan has not needed nuclear weapons and hopes it never will.
Shahbaz Sharif said that thanks to the prayers of 240 million people, Pakistan achieved a great victory in this battle for truth, with the entire nation standing behind the Pakistan Armed Forces. The military is fully prepared to protect national sovereignty and integrity.
He emphasized that now the time has come for the nation to unite and become an economic power. This was the shortest war in history, won through the brave and wise leadership of the army chief and God’s abundant blessings. Pakistan is being economically strengthened through day and night efforts, and the country will progress with unity so that the enemy never dares to cast an evil eye again.
The Prime Minister vowed to eliminate national debt through hard work and reiterated Pakistan’s political, diplomatic, and moral support for Kashmiris, who remain steadfast in their struggle for their rights. Pakistan will continue to stand with Kashmiris until they gain their right to self-determination as per United Nations Security Council resolutions.
He sent a message from Muzaffarabad to the people of Srinagar that they will never be alone, and the day will come when Kashmiris receive their rights and Kashmir becomes part of Pakistan.
Regarding the aid package, the Prime Minister announced that families of martyred civilians will receive 10 million PKR, and the wounded will get between 1 to 2 million PKR, with the remaining compensation to be paid soon. Families of martyrs from the armed forces will receive between 10 million to 18 million PKR depending on rank. Housing allowances between 19 million to 42 million PKR will be given according to designation. Martyrs’ families will continue to receive full salary and allowances until retirement, and martyr’s children will receive free education up to graduation. A marriage grant of 1 million PKR will be given for martyrs’ daughters. Injured armed forces personnel will receive 2 to 5 million PKR. The Prime Minister stressed that serving martyrs’ families and veterans is a duty of every government.
Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq said India is a deceitful enemy but will not dare to attack again. He condemned the Pahalgam false flag operation and highlighted the increased oppression, house demolitions, and enforced disappearances in occupied Kashmir. He also accused India of involvement in the Khuzdar incident.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam praised the nation for standing united against India’s aggression. He saluted the martyrs’ families and applauded the unmatchable spirit of the people living along the Line of Control. He affirmed that India cannot crush the spirit of Kashmiris, and the people of Azad Kashmir stand like a steel wall with the armed forces. Compensation for damages to homes caused by Indian aggression will be provided.
