When Will Eid al-Adha Be Celebrated In Pakistan?
Astronomers have predicted the expected sighting of the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, saying that there is a strong possibility of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan on Saturday, June 7.
According to experts, the age of the moon at sunset on May 27 will be only 11 hours, which is insufficient for visual sighting, so it is likely that the new lunar month will not begin on that day. On this basis, the month of Dhul-Qa’dah is likely to be complete for 30 days.
Experts say that the age of the moon will be more than 35 hours on May 28, due to which the chances of seeing the moon of Dhul-Hijjah clearly increase. If this prediction proves correct, the first of Dhul-Hijjah in Pakistan will be on Wednesday, May 29, and accordingly, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7.
However, the final date of Eid will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the moon sighting. Experts say that their astronomical predictions can make it easier for the public to make travel and other preparations.
