Pakistan and Russia Agree to Establish New Steel Mill in Karachi

Pakistan and Russia have agreed to establish a new steel mill in Karachi to boost bilateral relations and industrial cooperation. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Russian representative Denis Nazirov and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Investment, Haroon Akhtar Khan.

According to a press release, the discussion mainly focused on setting up new steel mills in Pakistan. Both sides engaged in a comprehensive dialogue regarding potential collaboration on the Karachi-based steel project.

They also agreed to form a joint working group to facilitate the development and execution of this initiative. During the meeting, Haroon Akhtar highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision to expand investment in Pakistan, emphasizing that the country has emerged as a strong and secure destination for international investors.

He stated that Pakistan is now seen as a safe and thriving hub for investment, and the international community acknowledges its economic potential. Haroon Akhtar also invited Russian businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.

This development marks an important step in strengthening Pakistan-Russia ties and opens new avenues for joint ventures in critical sectors like steel production.
