PCB Appoints Mike Hesson as New Head Coach
Lahore: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has announced the appointment of a new head coach for the national cricket team. In a statement issued on social networking website X (formerly Twitter), Mohsin Naqvi said:“I am pleased to announce that former New Zealand cricketer and experienced coach Mike Hesson will take over as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan cricket team from May 26.
”He said that Mike Hesson was selected after a detailed review of several applications received for the position.
It should be noted that Mike Hesson was recently serving as the coach of Islamabad United, and there was speculation that he would become the head coach of the national team after the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
It should be remembered that Aqib Javed served as interim coach after Gary Kirsten resigned, but his contract expired in February 2025, and he refused to renew.
