Pakistan Not Involved in Pahalgam Incident, Says Deputy PM Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has categorically rejected Indian allegations linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam incident, calling India’s reaction irresponsible and provocative.
Addressing a joint press conference alongside DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif and Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, Dar stated that Pakistan has no connection to the Pahalgam attack and condemned all forms of terrorism, especially those targeting innocent civilians.
“Pakistan has sacrificed over 80,000 lives in the war against terrorism. The nation and its institutions have bravely confronted this menace,” Dar remarked.
He criticized India’s narrative, saying that New Delhi uses such incidents for political gains and to divert attention from internal failures. “India has a history of blaming Pakistan without evidence,” he added.
Dar accused India of linking the legitimate freedom struggle in Occupied Kashmir with terrorism, using repressive laws to crush basic human rights.
The Deputy Prime Minister also warned that any attempt by India to block Pakistan’s water would be considered an act of war. “While Pakistan will not initiate conflict, any aggression will be met with a strong and decisive response,” he asserted.
He further said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered full cooperation in investigating the Pahalgam incident, and urged the international community to help de-escalate tensions and ensure peace in the region.
