America Stands With India, Condemns Pahalgam Attack
The US State Department has urged Pakistan and India to work towards a responsible resolution of the issue after the Pahalgam incident.
According to the Reuters news agency, the US State Department said that this situation is changing all the time, and Washington is closely monitoring this development.
The statement said that the US is in contact with India and Pakistan and is urging all parties to resolve the issue peacefully and responsibly.
The US State Department spokesperson added that the US stands with India and strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump, reacting to the Pahalgam incident and the rising tension between India and Pakistan, had called the Kashmir issue an old dispute.
President Trump had said that the fight between the two countries over Kashmir has been going on for a thousand years or maybe even more.
He added, “There has been tension on the border for 1500 years, and the two countries will somehow resolve this recent issue.”
“On the other hand, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke to his Chinese counterpart over the phone in the context of the Pahalgam incident.
Washington’s strong message: Pakistan and India should resolve the issue immediately or face the consequences.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, while announcing support for Pakistan in its anti-terrorism efforts, said that combating terrorism is a shared responsibility of nations.
