Roti Price Fixed at Rs. 30 for 360g in Quetta
A meeting of the District Price Control Committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Kuchlak, Industry Department, Market Committee, Anjuman Tajran, Chamber of Commerce, and Consumer Society representatives.
In the context of the recent decline in flour prices, detailed deliberations were held in the meeting to fix the new price of bread. After analysis, the final decision was made to fix the price of 360 grams of bread at Rs 30.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar said that tandoor owners respond immediately to the increase in flour prices, but despite the flour being cheap, they do not reduce the price of bread, which is an injustice to the public.
He said that notices have been given repeatedly to the Tandoor Association representatives to reduce bread prices, but this is not being implemented.
He clarified that the district administration would take action indiscriminately against violations of the government price list in Quetta.
All possible steps will be taken to provide relief to the public.
It was also decided in the meeting that the government price list will be prominently displayed on every tandoor, and a computerized weighing facility will be available on every tandoor to ensure adherence to the prescribed weight and price.
