Strong Quake Jolts Pakistan Cities

On the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday, powerful 5.6-magnitude earthquakes shook people in different parts of the country.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt in many cities, including Lahore and its surroundings, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Swabi, Dir, Swat, Malakand, and Chitral. The ground also shook in Peshawar, Malakand, Abbottabad, and Battagram.

The earthquake occurred at 4:13 pm local time. The magnitude of the quake was recorded as 5.6, the intensity of which was so strong that people woke up from their sleep and came out of their homes in fear.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan was recorded as 5.6 and kef r ksjkk xb 69 km.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in the Afghan province of Nuristan, while earthquake tremors were also felt in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

There was widespread panic among the citizens, and in several areas, people were seen running towards open spaces while reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.

No loss of life or property has been reported so far, however, authorities are closely monitoring the situation.

Rescue and emergency services have been alerted, and instructions have been issued to the relevant agencies to take precautionary measures given the possible aftershocks.
