Is Saying ‘Eid Mubarak’ Allowed in Islam?
On the occasion of Eid, people greet each other by saying “Eid Mubarak”.From a Sharia perspective, it is proven that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said to each other on the day of Eid, “Taqbullah Allah minna wa minka” (May Allah accept our worship and yours).
Although these are the original Sunnah words, it is also permissible and correct to say “Eid Mubarak”.
These words are like supplication and praying for each other on the occasion of happiness is to Islamic teachings. (Reference: Fatawa Darul Uloom Zakaria 2/685)
Therefore, saying “Eid Mubarak” is not prohibited but rather a way of expressing happiness and goodwill.
