No Change in Fuel Prices, But Major Cut in Power Tariffs
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has decided to keep petroleum prices at their current level and transfer the financial benefit to the public by reducing electricity tariffs.
The Prime Minister stated that the government is preparing a comprehensive and effective strategy to bring a meaningful reduction in electricity prices.
The details of this relief package are being finalized, and a formal announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
He further stated that due to ups and ridges in global oil prices, with other government measures, financial space used to provide significant relief in electricity costs will be used.
Confirming his commitment to public relief, the Prime Minister emphasized that this initiative will not only reduce power prices, but will also help in reducing overall inflation.
The Prime Minister assured the nation that he would personally announce this relief package, which would ensure more ease and strength for the people.
