March 8: Salute to the Baloch Women’s Struggle

The centuries-old history of the Baloch nation is full of the bravery and struggle of women. Baloch women have always stood by the side of men and struggled, from social issues to resistance against external invaders. The famous Baloch poet, researcher and historian, the late Mir Gul Khan Naseer, writes in his book “The Story of Balochistan in the Words of Poets” that:
“The greatness of Baloch history is actually due to women.”
He further says that “Women appear stronger and more courageous than men in Baloch history.”
These quotes testify to the fact that Baloch women have always been a metaphor for struggle and have been making sacrifices for their nation.
Responsibility of Political Parties
In today’s era, national parties also have the responsibility to ensure the participation of women in politics. Women should be made aware of their national rights and enabled to play an important role in the national movement through the party platform.
Baloch women have not only been a metaphor for bravery in the past history but are also raising their voice for their rights today. This struggle will prove to be a milestone of the Baloch movement and national awareness in the future as well.
