March 8: Salute to the Baloch Women’s Struggle
Ideologies and movements have always been a reflection of the international struggle of women, which is why March 8 is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year as International Women’s Day around the world.
If we look at history, it is clear that the role of women has always been prominent in all social and national movements.
Be it political and social struggle or social development, no movement can achieve success unless women participate in it.
The participation and role of women have always been a fundamental element in all successful national movements around the world, which is an argument that the role of women is indispensable in the development of any nation.
The history of Baloch women is full of struggle
The centuries-old history of the Baloch nation is full of the bravery and struggle of women. Baloch women have always stood by the side of men and struggled, from social issues to resistance against external invaders. Even today, Baloch women have become an iron wall against oppression and are playing a key role in the national movement.
Baloch women have not only demonstrated their capabilities in the political, social and literary fields, but they have also become a high example of struggle against oppression for the oppressed nations of the world. They are not only playing an active role in the national movement, but have also become a beacon of light for other women in the region through their academic, conscious and intellectual struggle.
The greatness of women in Baloch history
The famous Baloch poet, researcher and historian, the late Mir Gul Khan Naseer, writes in his book “The Story of Balochistan in the Words of Poets” that:
“The greatness of Baloch history is actually due to women.”
He further says that “Women appear stronger and more courageous than men in Baloch history.”
These quotes testify to the fact that Baloch women have always been a metaphor for struggle and have been making sacrifices for their nation.
Responsibility of Political Parties
In today’s era, national parties also have the responsibility to ensure the participation of women in politics. Women should be made aware of their national rights and enabled to play an important role in the national movement through the party platform.
Baloch women have not only been a metaphor for bravery in the past history but are also raising their voice for their rights today. This struggle will prove to be a milestone of the Baloch movement and national awareness in the future as well.
