Ahsan Iqbal’s Economic Plan: Pakistan to Hit $3 Trillion by 2047
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has said that Pakistan’s economic growth depends on the leadership of the private sector and the promotion of nationwide skills.
Addressing the COTHM Global Convocation, he said that to compete in the modern global economy, Pakistan must equip its workforce with modern skills and the private sector must play a central role in investment and business expansion.
He said that the sustainable development of any country is not possible without the full participation of the private sector and a skilled workforce.
A new mindset is needed to address the economic challenges facing Pakistan, where the government provides a business-friendly environment, promotes investment and equips the youth with modern skills.
He added that Pakistan is rich in immense resources and capabilities, but it must be made internationally competitive through educational reforms and industrial development.
Opportunities for Growth in Tourism and Hospitality
Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan’s tourism and hospitality sector is growing rapidly, with its natural landscapes and historical heritage gaining global attention.
However, improving infrastructure and developing a skilled workforce are essential to harness the full potential of the sector.
He said that despite security challenges, Pakistan has embarked on a path of stability, and now investment in digital connectivity and human resources is essential to make this growth effective.
“Udhan Pakistan” – The Dream of a $3 Trillion Economy by 2047
Ahsan Iqbal, while mentioning the vision of “Udhan Pakistan” for the development of the country’s economy, said that it aims to transform Pakistan into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Under this project, key economic sectors will be strengthened, modern innovation will be promoted and Pakistani youth will be made competitive in the global market.
Opportunities for Youth and Future Strategy
He said that the government is promoting technical and vocational training, IT education, digital skills and apprenticeship programs, so that employment opportunities can be created for the youth.
Pakistani skilled people have already proven their skills at the global level, but now there is a need to further improve these skills through modern technologies.

Ahsan Iqbal stressed that national unity and a strong economic vision are the# guarantee of Pakistan’s development.
