PM Orders Modernization of Health System
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government is working on a priority basis to provide access to health facilities across the country.
He has directed to modernization of the healthcare system under the federal government and made Islamabad a model for the entire country in terms of facilities.
A review meeting was held on the Ministry of National Health Affairatunder the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif,
in which the Prime Minister directed to work of Jinnah Medical Cothe expedition of the search Center and to start the pre-qualification process for the purpose chase of medical and surgical machinery and equipment in a timely manner.
The Prime Minister sapromptlyalification process should be completed under the supervision of an expert consultant,. A third-party audit should be mandatory for the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex and the purchase of machinery and equipment.
He also directed the Prime Minister to start the process of approving the charter approved to Jinnah Medical Complex.
The meeting was informed in a briefing on health facilities in Islamabad that Jinnah Medical Complex has been established as a company under Section 42 of the Companies Act.
The Steering Committee of JMC has approved the master plan of Jinnah Medical Complex.
The briefing was informed that the recruitment process has been initiated for the Project Management Unit and Project Implementation Unit of Jinnah Medical Complex.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for National Health Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharat, and senior government officials concerned.
