PM Announces Faceless Assessment in Customs System

A delegation of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.

The meeting discussed in detail the mutual trust and constructive relations between the government and the media.

The Prime Minister said that constructive criticism of the media on government policies is indispensable for improving governance, and the government considers the media as the fourth pillar of the state and fully believes in freedom of expression.

For the success of which the cooperation of the media and all stakeholders is necessary. The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s economy has returned to its 2018 level and is now on a fast-paced journey of development.

The participants of the delegation appreciated the Prime Minister’s efforts in implementing the government’s economic policies, especially the reduction in electricity prices and resolving issues with IPPs amicably.

He also stressed that political stability is the need of the hour and the government should play its positive role in this regard.

The Prime Minister said that the cooperation of friendly countries has played an important role in putting the country’s economy on the path of development, and with their cooperation, Pakistan has achieved economic stability.

The meeting also discussed the early completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

The Prime Minister termed CPEC as a milestone for the development of the region and said that this project is the realization of the shared dream of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mian Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, senior officials of the Ministry of Information, and PBA representatives Mian Amir Mahmood, Mir Ibrahim, Naz Afreen Sehgal, Sultan Lakhani, Salman Iqbal, Shakeel Masood, Nadeem Malik, and Kazim Khan. The delegation expressed its determination to make the role of the media more active in the development of the country and improvement of governance.
