Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Congressmen Thomas Richard Suozzi and Jack Bergman in Washington to discuss matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-US relations and the situation in Afghanistan. Congressman Suozzi, a Democrat, and Congressman Bergman, a Republican, engaged in discussions aimed at fostering stronger bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s partnership with the United States and emphasized the country’s desire to enhance cooperation across all sectors. He extended an invitation to the Congressmen to visit Pakistan, expressing confidence that such visits would contribute to strengthening ties and promoting mutual understanding. Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering a productive relationship with the US, underscoring the value of collaboration in addressing shared challenges.
Congressman Suozzi expressed his commitment to deepening relations with Pakistan and accepted the invitation, stating that he would visit the country in the near future. He acknowledged the significance of maintaining open channels of communication and collaboration between the two nations to address regional and global issues effectively.
Additionally, both sides discussed the upcoming Pakistan Caucus Conference, scheduled to be held in Washington, DC, on April 30. The conference aims to provide a platform to further enhance dialogue and cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, was also present during the meeting. His participation highlighted the embassy’s ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and facilitate productive engagements between officials from both countries.
