Imran Khan sentenced to 14 years, Bushra Bibi to 7 years in prison; 190 million pound case verdict
The Accountability Court sentenced former Prime Minister and founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to 14 years in prison with hard labor and a fine of Rs 1 million in a 190 million pound corruption case.
His wife Bushra Bibi was sentenced to 7 years in prison and a fine of Rs 5 million.
The verdict was pronounced at Adiala Jail
Judge Nasir Javed Rana pronounced the verdict at Adiala Jail. Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and their lawyers, including Barristers Gohar, Shoaib Shaheen, and Salman Akram Raja, were also present on the occasion.
Additional sentence for non-payment of fine
- The verdict said that if Imran Khan does not pay the fine, he will have to spend another 6 months in jail,
- while if Bushra Bibi does not pay the fine, her sentence will be increased by 3 months.
