According to the report, human traffickers sent a boat from Mauritania to Spain on January 2, which was taken to Moroccan borders, and the human traffickers stopped it and contacted the families of those on board and demanded money.
According to the media, the illegal immigrants from Pakistan contacted their families to send money and asked the human traffickers for more time, after which there was contact between the human traffickers and the families of the Pakistani youth for 8 days to arrange more money.
According to the report, 44 people died in the incident, out of which 12 youths belong to Gujrat district of Punjab province of Pakistan. Most of the survivors also belong to Gujrat district.
