PM Hails Record Surge in Remittances

In December 2023, the volume of remittances was $2.4 billion, with an annual increase of 29.3 percent and a monthly increase of 5.6 percent in December 2024.
The total volume of remittances during the first half of the fiscal year 2025 was $17.8 billion, an increase of 32.8 percent. According to the State Bank, the highest remittance receipt was $776 million from Saudi Arabia,
631.5 million from the United Arab Emirates, $456.9 million from the United Kingdom, and $284.3 million from the United States. Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the record increase in remittances.
Remittances reached $3.1 billion in December 2024, which is 5.6% more than November 2024.
The Prime Minister said that there has been a significant increase of 29.3% in remittances between December 2023 and December 2024, which reflects the commitment made by overseas Pakistanis for the development of the country.
He added that this record increase in remittances negates the claims of all those opponents who have been spreading negative propaganda about the country’s economy.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has embarked on the path of development after economic stabilization and the government is committed to public welfare.
