8 Pakistanis Killed in Iran Workshop Attack
8 Pakistani citizens were brutally killed in a heartbreaking incident in the Mehristan area of Iran’s border province of Sistan and Balochestan.
The victims belonged to the Bahawalpur district of Punjab and worked in a workshop in Haizabad, repairing, painting, and polishing vehicles.
According to local sources, unknown attackers entered the workshop in the dark of night and opened fire indiscriminately, killing all the workers.
The hands and feet of all the victims were tied, indicating that the incident was carried out under a systematic plan.
The deceased included Dilshad, his son Naeem, Jafar, Danish, Nasir, and others. After the incident, Iranian security forces reached the spot, took the bodies into custody, and cordoned off the area. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack;k, however, according to initial evidence, an anti-Pakistan terrorist organization is suspected of being involved in this heinous act.
Iranian authorities have investigated the incident, but no arrests have been made yet. On the other hand, according to a spokesperson for the Pakistani embassy in Tehran, diplomatic staff have reached the scene. They are in constant contact with Iranian authorities to ensure the identification of the victims, the return of the bodies, and assistance to the affected families.
It should be noted that in January 2024, 9 Pakistani workers were killed similarly in the Iranian city of Saravan.
This is the second major attack on Pakistani workers in Sistan and Baluchistan, which has raised questions about security cooperation between the two countries.
The Pakistani government has demanded that the perpetrators be arrested as soon as possible and brought to justice.

The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact the families of the Pakistanis and the Pakistani Embassy in Iran to take steps for the safe return of their bodies.
