3 Years Jail For Exam Paper Leak
Leaking exam papers through any medium, including social media, will result in 3 years of imprisonment and no bail, Punjab has prepared rules and regulations for new legislation.
The Lahore Education Board has formulated new regulations regarding cheating and leaking papers in exams.
The education board has notified all educational institutions that ‘leaking exam papers and spreading them through social media or any other means will result in three years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.
According to the Punjab Education Minister, after the Lahore Board, other boards in Punjab will also introduce regulations to follow suit.
According to the new regulations, government officials who leak question papers will also be fired, in addition to being imprisoned and fined.
Action will be taken under the YEDA Act for bringing mobile phones and interfering in any way in the rectorate exams.
Teachers’ associations have welcomed the implementation of strict laws against cheating.
It is worth noting that Sindh and Punjab have been facing large-scale challenges regarding cheating in educational examinations, but Punjab has now introduced strict laws regarding this.
