3 martyred as bomb blast targets police van in South Waziristan

A remote-controlled bomb targeted a police mobile A remote-controlled bomb targeted a police mobile van in the busy Rustam Bazaar area of Wana, South Waziristan, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 14 others, including two police officers.

According to DSP Imranullah, the explosion occurred right next to the police vehicle, causing severe damage to it. The injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana, where an emergency was declared and medical staff were put on high alert.

District Police Officer (DPO) Tahir Shah reported that gunfire was also heard shortly after the explosion. Police and security forces swiftly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began collecting evidence.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the blast was carried out using a remote-controlled device. Further investigations are underway, and security measures in the area have been tightened.
