Chairman Parliamentary Committee on kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon has said that occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been a Core of Pakistan foreign policy and political, moral and diplomatic support for freedom in Kashmir is our collective responsibility. He also stressed on the need to take special initiatives for highlighting atrocities especially on innocent children and women in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on electronic and print media. He also emphasized on need to exert collaborative efforts for projection of Kashmir cause at every multilateral forum.
The committee unanimously approved for formation of the inter-ministerial committee comprising Minsrtry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry of Education,Ministry of information and broadcasting, Ministry of Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ministry of Defence for evolving future strategies. The committee also expressed approval for making arrangement for holding joints session of Parliament along with Members legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to convey a strong message of solidarity for suppressed Kashmiris. The committee strongly denounced the statements of extremist Hindu leaders regarding annulment of Article 0f 370 and 35-A.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan Engr Amir Muqam said that gross human rights violations are committed on Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir as aftermath of abolishment Article 370 and 35-A of Indian constitution. He said that unliteral action of Indian hegemon would destabilize the peace of whole region. He also said that this move of Indian to change the demographic position in Indian held occupied Jammu and Kashmir is against resolution of UNO. He also emphasized for collective efforts to keep this issue alive at every regional and international forum.
Member committee Senator Pervaiz Rasheed mentioned about aftermath of amendment on 5th August 2019 in Indian constitution which was a disputed territory as mentioned in the UNO Resolution. Special Invitee Former diplomat Mr. Jalil Abbad Jilani briefed the committee about severity of suppression in Kashmir. He said that the main leadership especially Hurriat leadership is under incarceration as more than 4 thousand Kashmir have been incarcerated after 5th August 2019. After repeal of Article 35- A from Indian constitution more than five million people were settled to change the demographic nature and to held farce election.
Member committee Rana Mubashar proposed to coordinate and develop mechanism between the parliamentary committee on Kashmir with Ministry of Foreign Affairs MOFA to develop possible media strategies for cause of Kashmir dispute. Mishal Malik Special Invitee of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir said that all top leadership is under incarceration. She also said that hate against Indian is on rise in Indian held Jammu and Kashmir. Representative of ministry of Defence has pointed out negative and subversive use of social media to infiltrate Indian agenda in youth of Kashmir. He emphasized on the need to start youth empowerment projects. Further, he said that Diaspora engagement needs to be undertaken to highlight Kashmir dispute at all forum.
