27 Years of Nuclear Pride: Youm-e-Takbir Celebrated Nationwide
Islamabad: Today, on the 27th anniversary of Pakistan becoming a nuclear power, Youm-e-Takbir is being celebrated with national enthusiasm across the country.
On May 28, 1998, Pakistan achieved the honor of becoming the first in the Islamic world and the seventh nuclear power in the world by carrying out nuclear explosions in the Chagai area of ​​Balochistan.
On the occasion of Youm-e-Takbir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation and said that 27 years ago, Pakistan made a historic declaration of its sovereignty by rejecting enemy aggression and external pressure.
He said that the then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, prioritizing national interest, decided to carry out nuclear explosions, which made Pakistan’s defense invincible.
The Prime Minister said that today Pakistan is celebrating Youm-e-Takbir at a time when Pakistan achieved a brilliant victory in its defense from May 6 to 10 in the recent war imposed by India. According to him, this victory is an increase in the joys of Youm-e-Takbir for the nation.
He said that in response to India’s five nuclear explosions in 1998, Pakistan proved its military capability to the world by conducting six successful nuclear tests.
Shahbaz Sharif paid tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, scientists, engineers, Pakistani armed forces and national institutions who turned the nuclear program into a reality.
The Prime Minister said that Youm-e-Takbir is a continuation of the fulfillment of the dream of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the basis of which Pakistan came into existence. He said that the nation has always made the impossible possible, and this spirit is the real strength of Pakistan.
In his message, Shahbaz Sharif expressed his determination that Pakistan is not only a nuclear power but will also be made an economic power in the future, and that the unity and solidarity of the nation will restore Pakistan to its true position.
