Clean drinking water is a guarantee of health and life, but the residents of the capital do not have this basic facility and residents of most sectors are forced to drink contaminated water.

According to media reports, most of the water filtration plants managed by the Federal Development Authority (CDA) do not have modern filtration installed,

CDA has 98 water filtration plants in different sectors and model villages of Islamabad, which are managed by 5 NGOs.

According to media reports, CDA admitted in a recent report that 16 percent of the water in filtration plants in Islamabad was found unsafe.

The report recommended installing modern systems in water filtration plants.

In this regard, CDA Director General Water Management Sardar Khan Zimri told the media that due to chloroform, the results of 2 to 3 percent of filtration plants are good.

He said that for a permanent solution to this problem, modern systems will be installed in water filtration plants so that the problems arising due to groundwater can be overcome.

The people of Islamabad say that the government should pay special attention to this problem and the authorities should regularly review the filtration plants.
