Zahra Baloch Will Be Ambassador To France

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the summary of the appointment of Amina Baloch as Foreign Secretary who will replace Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi after his retirement in October.

Apart from this, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has been approved as Pakistan’s ambassador to France.

According to the Business Recorder report, Amna Baloch is currently Pakistan’s ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Amina Baloch served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia before joining Pakistan’s ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

During his career, he served on various important assignments at headquarters and overseas missions.

Ambassador Amina Baloch will be the second woman to hold the top post in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after Tehmina Janjua, who was appointed as the first woman Foreign Secretary by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in February 2017.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch is currently the Spokesperson and Additional Foreign Secretary (Strategic Communication Division and Public Diplomacy) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before her current position, she served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea (2020-2021) and Minister/Deputy Head of Mission (2015-2020) at the Pakistani Embassy in China.

She has also served as Political Affairs Counselor at the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC (2006-2011) and Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, Geneva (1999-2002).

He served as Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia and the Pacific), Director (America), Director (Security Council and Human Rights), and Director (Strategic Planning) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.

During 2014-2015 Amina Baloch served as Director (Academic Programme) and later as Acting Director General of Foreign Service Academy Islamabad.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister appointed Janbaz Khan as the new Ambassador of Pakistan to Brunei, Mohammad Saleem as the new High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada, and Malik Farooq who is currently the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait.

Appointing a new High Commissioner of Pakistan in Kuwait has also been approved. South Africa.

Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, currently Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, will be Pakistan’s new ambassador to Belgium and the European Union.
