Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has imposed Section 144 across the province, introducing several restrictions due to security concerns. The Home Department of Balochistan has officially issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, pillion riding (double riding) on motorcycles has been banned throughout the province, though women and children are exempted from this restriction.
The order also prohibits covering the face in public places — including the use of veils, scarves, mufflers, or masks. Additionally, the use and display of weapons, unregistered motorcycles, and vehicles with tinted windows have been strictly banned.
The notification further states that public gatherings of five or more people, including sit-ins and rallies, will not be allowed. The transport and storage of explosive materials or sulfuric acid have also been completely prohibited.
Authorities have warned that violations of these directives will lead to legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Law enforcement agencies, including the Police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC), have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order. All Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to submit daily compliance reports to the Home Department.
According to the department, these restrictions were imposed after amending the November 5 notification and will remain in effect until November 30, 2025.
