Rizwan Khan alias Budha, the wanted accused in the rape and murder case of a 9-year-old child in the Wah Cantt area, opened fire on a police party, during which one accused was killed while his accomplice escaped.
The 9-year-old child had left home with his brother 3 years ago and his body was later found in the fields.
According to the post-mortem and forensic reports, the child was murdered after being raped, which became a complex case for the Rawalpindi police.
After three years of continuous investigation, the police formed several special teams and intensified efforts to arrest the accused.
There was solid evidence against the deceased accused that he had raped the child and murdered her.
Senior police officers reached the spot as soon as the information about the firing incident was received and a search operation is underway to arrest the absconding accused.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani commended S. Potohar, DSP Taxila, SHO Wah Cantt and the police team for their brave fight against the accused.
He made it clear that no accused involved in serious crimes can escape the clutches of the law.
